Former Philadelphia Phillies catcher Darren Daulton shared some fantastic news last week. Daulton said his latest MRI exam was clean, showing he is beating brain cancer. Daulton was diagnosed with two brain tumors back in the summer fo 2013. He shared the news via Twitter and said he is appreciative of the support Phillies fans have given him through his fight.

Daulton is in Clearwater and reportedly has an open invite to join the team during spring training as a guest instructor. Though his passion for baseball has not diminished, Daulton says he still struggles speaking at times and he does not feel comfortable taking on that kind of role at this time, as reported by Bob Brookover of The Philadelphia Inquirer. This is perfectly understandable. Here’s to hoping one day Daulton continues to make progress in his recovery and fight so that he can stay involved with the team in some capacity.

As many of you are surely aware, just because Daulton has been given the clean bill of health now, does not necessarily mean the fight is over. For now, at least, Daulton can smile and feel good and that in turn will hopefully provide some inspiration to others who may be affected by cancer in some capacity. There is hope.
