Former Phillies catcher Darren Daulton, considered one of the leaders of the 1993 team nicknamed Macho Row, is battling a pair of brain tumors recently discovered. He is scheduled for surgery next week. It goes without saying that this is just terrible news and best wishes will be with him moving forward through this battle.
Daulton has been co-hosting a regular program bearing his nickname on 97.5 The Fanatic in Philadelphia for the past couple of seasons. He obviously is putting that show on hold for the time being. The station released the following statement as the news broke on air this afternoon.
Darren Daulton has not been feeling well over the past two weeks. He went to the doctor who discovered two brain tumors and is scheduled for surgery early next week. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family at this difficult time. Of course we want to respect his privacy at a time like this, but if you would like to send him get well wishes you may do so at [email protected].
