Oakland Raiders running back Darren McFadden was named the week 7 AFC player of the week for his performance against the Denver Broncos in the Mile High Massacre.
McFadden is being honored for his 16 carries for 165 yards and three touchdowns on the ground, as well as two catches for 31 yards and another touchdown.
This is already a career best season for McFadden, despite only playing in five games. He is only 299 yards away from surpassing his rushing total from his first two years.
He ranks third in the AFC in rushing, despite missing two games due to injury.
He is the first Raider running back to win the award since LaMont Jordan in week 7 of 2005.
The Raiders offensive domination was so complete, McFadden wasn’t the only Raider nominated for this award. Jason Campbell was also nominated for his 12-20-204-2 passing line and 127.9 passer rating.
Sebastian Janikowski was nominated for the special teams player of the week for his seven touchback performance against the Broncos.
