After having his physical done in San Antonio this week and reportedly discussing an NBA contract, San Antonio Spurs 2009 NBA draftee, Nando De Colo, has been released by his Spanish team Valencia Basket according to a release from the team.
Victor Claver, who is rumored to be joining the Portland Trailblazers this coming season, was also released from the team to continue his professional career into the NBA. If both players don’t end up coming to the NBA and want to return to the Spanish league they play in, they are obligated to resume play with Valenica Basket per the release.
This is just one more of many signs that De Colo is almost a lock to join the Spurs this coming season. France will face Great Britain today in a pre-Olympic match-up from Orleans, France. De Colo might be moved to the shooting guard position now that Spurs point guard Tony Parker has been cleared to play.
What do you have to say Spurs fans? How will De Colo fit into the Spurs’ future?
