Defense rises to the occasion at times, but still inconsistant.

To be fair, even the offense is inconsistent in their efforts, sometimes seeming to forget to even show up in the first quarter of play. But this season the defense has been known to take the whole first half off, then turn it on in the second half. Several games have seen the Bucs shut out opponents in the last 30 minutes. This past week against the Falcons, the Bucs came up with some big time stops at the end of the first half, something new in 2010. Almost sensing when its that time of the game, the defense goes into a zone. And I dont mean a type of defense, I mean, a state of being. Watch the three downs…. On this occasion, the offense wasn’t able to come through, but the defense failed to provide the signature take aways either. Sometimes its just a game of inches, and who can make the last play. Today it was Atlanta, the next time these two teams face each other, the Bucs will be wearing Bucco Bruce and Orange uniforms in the second throwback game in which Bucs first ever Head Coach John McKay will be inducted into the team’s Ring of Honor, Joining Bucs first every player Lee Roy Selmon!
