WATCH: DeMarcus Cousins on apologizing to Sean Elliott

The Sacramento Kings blew out the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday afternoon. DeMarcus Cousins was a force to be reckoned with, like he has been for much of the season.  The 23-year-old center sat in his locker stall following the game answering the same type of questions he has answered all year long.

Yes, he is a leader on this team.  Yes, he is disappointed that the Kings almost blew a 40 point lead.  Yes, he is happy that Kentucky is still alive and well in the NCAA tournament.

But there was a new question this time.  A question about an incident that took place on Friday night when Cousins approached San Antonio Spurs television commentator Sean Elliott and apologized for an incident that happened nearly a year-and-a-half earlier.

“My focus is on going out and winning games,” Cousins said.  “What happened between me and Sean the other day was, just being man enough to admit that I was wrong.  I wasn’t expecting it to get out, I was hoping it was something that was going to be me and him, but that’s that.”

The video speaks volumes.  For those out there who believe that Cousins was prompted by the Kings to make amends with Elliott, the big man’s body language says otherwise.  He’s just not that good of an actor.

Cousins looked humbled by the experience and not all that happy that it was made public.  It appears that this was a genuine act of contrition of Cousins’ part and that is a sign of personal growth.
