BOSTON – Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose was still in a walking boot at one point Friday but told ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher that he would be playing in that night's game against the Boston Celtics as he recovers from a sprained toe.
Rose has been battling turf toe but did take part in a portion of the Bulls' shootaround on Friday morning. The team's official stance was that he'd be a game-time decision.
"He'll warm up tonight and see if he can go," Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said Friday morning. "He's feeling a lot better today."
I'm hoping the Celtics see this as a challenge. I hope the Celtics rise to the occasion against the MVP. But that's all just hope right now. And as a different Red said, hope is a dangerous thing, hope can drive a man insane.
Rajon Rondo… it's up to you. Huge matchup. Can you rise to the occasion?
