Last week everyone learned that Pro-Bowl wide receiver DeSean Jackson was released by Philadelphia Eagles.  Early Wednesday morning the Washington Redskins have agreed to terms on a three-year deal with former Eagles receiver Jackson.

The deal was first reported by ESPN just after midnight. Monday the Redskins were the first team that aggressively pursued Jackson, as he met with team officials at Redskins Park on Tuesday.

Tuesday afternoon he reportedly left the Park after the meeting for a couple of hours, but never hopped back on the flight since the deal appeared close.

Interesting enough a law enforcement source told NJ.com on Tuesday that the Redskins weren’t among the NFL teams that reached out to the Los Angeles Police Department after Jackson was connected to reputed gang members.

According to the source, the San Francisco 49ers and the Oakland Raiders have  asked the LAPD about Jackson on Friday. Jackson was cut less than an hour after the story was published.

A 49ers official reportedly reached out to Jackson while he was at dinner with new Redskins coach Jay Gruden on Monday night. But San Francisco, who had emerged as a surprising suitor, never had a chance to meet with the wide receiver

The Oakland Raiders, Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills appeared to be the next teams in line after the Redskins. The Jets, who had expressed an interest in Jackson before he was released, backed away when the gang revelations were made public.

Jackson is Pro-Bowl receiver and he will only make RGIII better this coming season.
