Detroit Lions have always been there when Bucs make a change

Ah the days of the NFC Central Division, The current NFC North plus Tampa Bay. We should have known they put us in there to get beat up! But it  wasn’t always that way! Every time there was change, Detroit was there!

The Lions are trying to put a losing mentality to bed…they had terrible teams in the modern era 2000 and up, but started to turn things around recently. Last year Detroit messed up a perfect chance to win a Division Championship, and ownership didn’t let them forget it. Coaching was changed again after an epic fall in last years division in which Aaron Rogers was gone for weeks yet Detroit could not gain ground against the Packers.

Sound famiar? If just three of the Bucs games this year had bounced the Bucs way, Playoffs wouldn’t be a joking matter here, but alas it is and what if’s and coulda beens have no place in the NFL. So here is Detroit making a serious playoff push under a new head coach who once was Tony Dungy’s hand picked Successor at Indianapolis.

Of course to be a good team, you need some stars. Detroit has two, every one knows Suh, and Calvin Johnson, but watch out for Golden Tate who is taking Calvin Johnson and making him less of a all or nothing player that Detroit Seems to always have had (Barry Sanders, Billy Simms).

The Lions and Bucs have found company in misery at times, no other franchise can relate to going 0 for like these  two. Detroit in 2008 went 0-16 with an ex Bucs DL head coach in Rod Marinelli. Tampa Bay went 0-14 in 1976 when future successful Lions head coach Wayne Fontes was a Defensive Backs coach for John McKay.

Today its Lovie Smith, another Dungy Protoge who will try to turn around the Bucs, that is, unless these Lions have something to say about it!
