It is the longest active playoffs streak in sports. The Boston Bruins own the longest playoffs streak in sports history at 29, so the Wings need six more straight appearances to tie it. Since Mike Ilitch bought the Red Wings in 1982, the team has missed the playoffs all of four times. Amazing.
