News out of New York is that former Eagles quarterback Michael Vick is scheduled to meet with the New York Jets this weekend.
Vick played in only 7 games last season due to various injuries as well as the unexpected emergence of Nick Foles. Vick, who turns 34 this June, has been praised for how he handled the backup role in Philly and that has drawn a few teams of interest. He also has also been rumored to be on the Raiders radar as well as the Bills.
The Jets reportedly are interested in Vick to serve as a mentor for second-year-starter Geno Smith. Marty Mornhinweg, the Jets offensive coordinator, spent 4 seasons with Vick in Philadelphia.
If he is signed, it would likely signal the end for former starter Mark Sanchez who is due a $2 million roster bonus on March 25th.
