Tom Gulitti at the Bergen Record reports that the Devils are expecting an intense game tonight…
Patrick Elias…
“Every time we play those guys, it’s a motivated game with high intensity and it’s the same from their side. I think it’s because we’re playing against each other so many times and we know where they’re at in the standings and we’re trying to still buckle down on our game. It should be an exciting game [tonight].”
Head Coach Peter DeBoer…
“It’s a rivalry and there’s an intensity to that series because of the history of the two teams and what they’ve been through. I think there’s a genuine dislike there and that all adds to the environment.”
Dainius Zubrus…
“Against the Rangers, everything is already built up, so I think it’s good. It was a big game that we lost [Saturday], but now we have two huge games in front of us – two in two nights. Really, we’re not happy about ourselves, but we have to move on. We have to come in [tonight] and be better in every area.”
…hopefully seeing the Devils tonight will snap the Rangers out of their recent funk. Nothing better than a cross river rival to fire you up.
…a win tonight could really springboard the Rangers into a nice streak heading into the playoffs. I don’t even want to think about what a loss could do, especially with the Red Wings in town on Wednesday.
