Daisuke Matsuzaka pitched his best game in a Red Sox uniform tonight in Philadelphia. He carried a no-no into the eighth before giving up a hit. Bard came in for the ninth and preserved the shutout.
J.D. Drew and Adrian Belte each had two hits in the game as the Sox cruised to an easy victory.
Let’s look at what Dan Shaughnessy had to say about Dice-K last week:
It’s pretty clear Matsuzaka has worn out his welcome with the Sox. He’s never been viewed as a team guy and his performance and manner are getting under everyone’s skin.
If the Red Sox have shown anything this season, it is don’t count anyone out. You can see why so many players dislike the media. Looks like somebody was way off the mark on this one.
