Did Gronk Go Too Far?

Did Gronk go too far, shoving Sergio Brown into the camera after the play was finished?

Rick:  Gronk went a little too far in shoving Sergio Brown because the message didn’t need to be sent in that moment that the Patriots were tough. They were showing that the whole game by running on the Colts at will. It was a cool play, but the action was not needed at that point in time. Let the playing do the talking (or the hitting) in this instance.

Raj: I feel Gronk did go too far. Sergio Brown probably did talk a lot of trash (probably more than need be). He probably provoked Gronk to a point where an action like that couldn’t be prevented. But as a professional athlete, Gronk should know better. Compare his size and strength to Brown’s. There is absolutely no contest, Gronk would destroy him anytime, anyday. But is it necessary? Absolutely not! I don’t blame Gronk 100% but at the same time, the great Bill Belichick once said, “Do your job”. Gronk’s job is NOT to act like a bouncer and throw Brown out of the club. His job is to play tight end for the New England Patriots. That means just play his game and ignore any of the trash talk that gets directed to him. I hope he has learned from this experience.

Derek: This is football and if you can’t handle some aggression after the whistle, then you probably shouldn’t be playing the game.  Gronk was certainly too aggressive, hence the penalty flag, but I don’t think the altercation was anything to get overly worked up about.
