Did You See What You Wanted To See? Toledo edition

Let’s take a look at what our “experts” asked for…..

Jeff at The BBC

A severe beatdown of the Toledo Rockets – I asked for one thing.  I got it.  Oh, did I ever get it.

MaliBuckeye

The game – Yes, Mali saw the game….he saw it about two plays after the rest of us did (JustibTV.com has a delay), but he saw it!

Top Fuel Dragster – Did we “hit the gas and not step off until it was over”?  Yes, we did.  Success again!

Fun with TP – Oh, yes.  He had fun.  Just ask him.  Of course, YOU’D have fun if you gained a quarter of a mile in one game.

No stupid false start penalties – Looks like Mali is going to have to ask again for this one.  Santa didn’t deliver once again.

Less than 350 yards total Rocket offense – Hell-to-the-yes!  They were averaging over 500 yards per game, and we kept them to just over 200.  Pay attention, Michigan.  That’s how you beat Toledo.

Jim

I want to see Terrelle Pryor complete 75% of his passes – Sorry, Jim.  61 percent completed.

I want to see a running back break 100 yards and average over 5 yards per carry – This one is a sorta-kinda success.  Pryor gained over 100 yards, but he’s not a RB (as you requested).  However, THREE of our guys picked up more than 5 yards per carry on the ground (Pryor 9.2, Jordan Hall 6.3, and Brandon Saine 5.0).  Add a fourth if you wish to count Joe Bauserman’s 7-yard average (1 rush, 7 yards).

I want to see the defense force two turnovers and not miss any tackles – Success!  One interception, one fumble.  And I don’t recall any missed tackles.

I want to see the team not let up in the second half and win by at least three TDs – I think this one goes as a “YES”.  We were sending in passing plays with a 38-point lead.  That counts, and all of us on the live chat who were calling for “Evil Tressel” got their wish.

Eric

The Buckeyes cannot come out flat! – Success!  Scoring a TD before everyone’s butts were in the seats made a huge impression.

Keep throwing to the RB’s and TE’s – 4 passes completed to the RBs and TEs was a welcome sight.  More is needed, especially to Saine, who seems to have a flair for it.

Stop running the Dave play – Well, we cut back on it at least….I think we only ran it a handful of times.

Start using Terrelle Pryor correctly – We used him correctly, and we saw a lot better performance out of LiC.  There were three occasions where he should have run the ball instead of looking to pass it, but overall it was a success, or at the very least a dramatic improvement.

Bonus! Crush the life out of Toledo – Victory!  And since we haven’t seen the Toledo Rockets troll over at Eleven Warriors, I think that it’s safe to say we won’t be hearing any smack talk from anybody within a 90-mile radius.
