Do the Vikings need a veteran wider receiver to help their young group?
As Vikings training camp quickly approaches I took a look at the roster group that the Vikings have for wide receivers. Wow we have a young group. Jarius Wright is the senior of the group with five years’ experience. Followed by Charles Johnson with 4 years (Green Bay, Cleveland and Minnesota) and the ever so shaky Corddarrelle Patterson with 4 years all with the Vikings.
A proven veteran that might not be looking to get paid a big contract and looking for a team that will contend might be an option to help this young group out.
Anquan Boldin is out there and as I write this I see the Lions are hosting him for a visit. He’s a big physical receiver that has had some ups and downs but I have always thought he was a 2nd tier guy that got the job done.
Greg Jennings… Yes we all heard him say that he would not mind coming back to the Vikings. I do think that he was well respected by the wide receiver group and at 32 turning 33 in September Greg does have a great work ethic.
Others that are out there that might be intriguing:
Anquan Boldin 35, Andre Johnson 34, Roddy White 34, Malcom Floyd 34 , Marques Colston 33, Jerricho
I do think that the Vikings will bring in a veteran wide receiver to camp and at least kick the tires to see if there is a need.
