Okay everyone… exhale.
I nearly jumped off the couch in jubilation after hearing Doc Rivers talk about KG’s injury in the post game press conference:
“I don’t think it’s bad. I’m not that concerned. He’s gonna miss some games probably. I don’t think it will be that long.”
It appears the injury is muscle related (calf?). We won’t know the specifics until the MRI is done tomorrow.
As for the game…
The Celtics played like crap. A season high 21 turnovers. Lots of dribbling, weak screens and very little ball movement on offense.
Detroit was fantastic. Crisp on offense, solid rotations on defense. Pistons shot 55% from the field, 66% from 3FG. It was almost as if the players had switched uniforms.
Paul Pierce (33 points, 11-16 FG, 8 assists) was the only threat on offense. I’m not sure why Ray Allen took only 8 shots (12 points).
Tracy McGrady (21 points, 8 assists) balled like it was 2002.
Bennie Adams is a terrible official.
