On Thursday, we found out that LA Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw won the NL Cy Young award; as he deserved it after the season he had on an underachieving team.

Kershaw this season had a 2.28 ERA, a 21-5 record, and 248 strikeouts. This is only Kershaw’s third year in the league and he has reached NL Cy Young status. Rounding out the top 5 in the voting was coming in 2nd was Phillies pitcher Roy Halladay, 3rd was Phillies pitcher Cliff Lee, 4th was Diamondbacks pitcher Ian Kennedy, and finally coming in 5th was Phillies pitcher Cole Hamels. So after all the voting, three Phillies finished in the top 5 which is pretty good, but still not good enough as Clayton Kershaw wins the NL Cy Young award.
