Sabermetricians have had quite an interesting past few days, mainly because Miguel Cabrera is no longer the most valuable third baseman in baseball according to WAR. That now would be Oakland's Josh Donaldson. And not to belabor the point, but the A's third baseman stung the Halos on Tuesday night.
After young starters Garrett Richards and Oakland's Sonny Gray dueled pitch-by-pitch for six innings, it came down to a battle of the bullpens. And the Angels' Michael Kohn willingly handed over another walk-off win to the A's, surrendering the walk-off single to none other than Donaldson.
Not much to take out of this game for the Halos. The offense left 18 runners on base, with the only running coming on yet another incredible home run from Mike Trout. A night after he clobbered a shot that easily could've gotten close to 500 feet in distance, he hit another one off the facing in dead center field at the Oakland Mausoleum, I mean, Coliseum. And Garrett Richards was also really solid, giving even more hope that he could solidify the 2014 rotation with a cheap, controllable, in-house arm.

Game Notes
— Howie Kendrick played his first full game since coming back from the disable list. Made a couple nice plays in the field and laced a single up the middle. Angel fans who are fond of the second baseman will want to watch these last few games intently. They might be his final contests wearing Halo red.
— Seriously, what could possibly be so bad about giving Grant Green some reps at third base? The season is over, and honestly, some in-game major league experience at the position couldn't possibly be all that detrimental to the team. Considering the guy could very well be an every day player in 2014, it seems counter productive letting him rot on the bench for the remainder of 2013.
