Don’t Look Now, But That’s 3 Straight; Tigers 3, Yankees 1

What a difference a few days makes. Despite stranding a few (read: 12) runners on base, the Tigers were able to muster enough offense to beat the Yankees in their own sandbox ball park, but only after making us throw up in our mouths a little bit. Yankees captain Derek Jeter helped out his home state by grounding into a double play to end the game. What a nice guy.

Home runs from Miguel Cabrera and the starting-to-heat-up Ryan Raburn provided all 3 of the Tigers runs on the night. Max Scherzer was awesome, but Jose Valverde wasn’t. His ERA has exploded since the All-Star Break, giving fans like me the same type of indigestion usually reserved for closers named Jones and Rodney.

Even with all my positivity, the Tigers are still 10 games behind the division leading Twins. Still, I’m holding out hope that the Tigers have a good stretch run in them, allowing me to make fun of the bandwagon ass cats that have abandoned this team.
