Double Closers!

For the first time since trading for Francisco Rodriguez, the Brewers got to use their new closer duo (even if Ron Roenicke doesn’t seem to know how to actually use it). Rodriguez pitched the 8th inning after LaTroy Hawkins and Kameron Loe coughed up a Brewers lead in the 7th inning, and after the Brewers took the lead in the 9th, John Axford nailed down the save.

While it would have been a smarter move to use K-Rod to put out the Rockies rally in the 7th, the formulaic use of Rodriguez-then-Axford worked this time. I just wish I had thought of this first:
