It’s already that time of the year where it’s fun to follow where Doug Armstrong pops up in arenas around the NHL. It’s perfectly common for a team to have a scout in attendance for a different team’s game, but when a GM makes an appearance, that usually means there’s something a bit more serious at work.
Armstrong apparently is pretty interested in the Columbus Blue Jackets as he’s been in attendance for their past three home games.
#stlblues GM Doug Armstrong must love the popcorn in Nationwide Arena. He's here for a third straight #CBJ game .

The obvious guess is that Armstrong is interested in the Blue Jackets, but it is worth noting the three visiting teams as well: San Jose, Nashville and Ottawa. It’s also worth pointing out that Armstrong is more than familiar with Columbus GM Jarmo Kekalainen and team president John Davidson, so it’s not far-fetched to think that the three friends could be discussing a possible deal.
Is something brewing? Fans can speculate, but at the very least it’s pretty interesting that Armstrong is spending so much time in Columbus.
