Doughty, Kopitar, Quick Selected to 2018 NHL All-Star Game

The LA Kings are the only Western Conference team sending three players to the All-Star Game.

Center Anze Kopitar, goaltender Jonathan Quick and defenseman Drew Doughty have been selected to represent the Pacific Division in the 2018 NHL All-Star Game at Amalie Arena, the National Hockey League announced today.

The game takes place on Sunday, January 28 in Tampa Bay.

Today’s announcement marks the fourth consecutive NHL All-Star Game selection for Doughty and his fourth overall.

Doughty has played in all 42 games for the Kings this season and has 30 points (7-23=30), a plus-21 rating and 28 penalty minutes. Among NHL defensemen, he leads the league in TOI/gm (27:10), ranks tied for sixth in points, tied for seventh in assists and second in game-winning goals (four, tied for first on the team). His plus-21 rating is tied for fourth among all NHL players.

This is Kopitar’s fourth All-Star Game selection (2015, 2011 and 2008). This season, Kopitar has played in all 42 games for the Kings, recording 44 points (17-27=44), a plus-14 rating and 12 penalty minutes.

He leads the team in points and assists, ranks second in goals, and tied for first in game-winning goals (four).

This is Quick’s third All-Star Game selection (2016 and 2012). This season, Quick has played in 34 games for the Kings. He has a 19-13-2 record to go along with a 2.31 goals-against average, a .926 save percentage and three shutouts.

Among qualified NHL goaltenders, Quick ranks tied for fifth in the NHL in save percentage, sixth in goals-against average, tied for fourth in shutouts, and tied for seventh in wins.
