Draft Lotto Tonight; Will Lady Luck Smile on the Hornets?

Draft Lotto time again Hornets fans.  Being a Hornets-Bobcats-Hornets fan, I know all about the good times and the bad times of the NBA Draft Lottery.  Back when the Hornets got back-to-back years where we landed Charlotte Larry Johnson and Alonzo Mourning; that was a time where I had belief in the good side of the lottery and that it was a good thing to have.  The 7-win season where we wound up with the number 2 pick, I believed that there was a conspiracy against us.  I have also believed that since it is now done behind closed doors, anything can be done to “rig” a draft lottery.  I don’t want to come across as a conspiracy theorist though.  I am including a link below just to share some interesting facts about the draft lottery.  It’s a pretty good read.

The Essential Guide to the Draft Lottery

As for the Hornets and the 2015 Draft Lottery, what are we looking for?  Where will we go with our pick?  I keep a watch on what all of the “mock-drafts” having us doing.  It’s really interesting to see.  Belief is pretty solid that there will be no surprises in the lottery.  I need to say that part first.  With it being said, the Hornets are projected to have the 9th pick overall.  So what will they do with it?  DraftExpress, CBS Sports, and USA Today all believe that we take Stanley Johnson, a 6’8” small forward from Arizona.  Sports Illustrated has us taking Frank Kaminski, a 7’ forward/center.  ESPN says that the Hornets grab Devin Booker, a 6’6” shooting guard.  Lastly, Bleacher Report says we get Mario Hezonja, a 6’8” SG/SF.

Needless to say, Rich Cho is all over this draft in regards to the players, trade options, moving up, and even moving back in the draft.  Mr. Cho takes a lot of hits on draft picks, but he is very organizes and his database of players is second to none.  All I can say is simply: In Cho I trust.

Let’s see what happens in the lottery tonight and as always…
