Penn State adds DT Robert Windsor to Class of 2015

With National Signing Day coming up next week, Penn State has received a verbal commitment from Wisconsin defensive tackle Robert Windsor. Windsor made his commitment Sunday morning, just days after making an official visit to Penn State.

Windsor is a three-star player according to Rivals as well as 247 Sports. You have to go back to before 2002 to find the last time Penn State landed a commitment from Wisconsin, so this recruitment does serve notice to some extent. Penn State won a recruiting battle against Wisconsin here, which is nice for the Penn State coaching staff.

Windsor received offers earlier in January from both Penn State and Wisconsin as both programs look to fill out their respective recruiting classes for 2015. Windsor is Penn State’s 21st commitment in the Class of 2015, which includes three early enrollees. A few days ago I took a look at the scholarship situation on offense for Penn State, but I have not done the same with the defense just yet. This news will be added to the mix in a breakdown that will be posting tomorrow on the site.
