ORACLE ARENA, OAKLAND, CA — It was rather grim news. The injury that Golden State Warriors center Andrew Bogut suffered last night against the Portland Trail Blazers turned out to have originated against the Denver Nuggets. The diagnosis: fractured rib on Bogut’s right side. And he’s in pain.

The official word is that Bogut is “out indefinitely”.

Does that mean he’ll miss the first round of the playoffs? The official answer to that is also “out indefinitely”, but for all intents and purposes, with the pain that Bogut described, the Warriors will probably be without Bogut for at least the first round, which is likely to be against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Will Festus Ezeli be ready for the playoffs?

The answer to that is unknown. According to head coach Mark Jackson, Ezeli is undergoing one-on-one drills, which is a step removed from full-contact practice. There is no timetable. Ezeli’s status just depends on how he feels each day.

The Warriors have recalled Ognjen Kuzmic from the D-League.
