With black jerseys and pants, a pink helmet, gloves and shoes, the Ducks will take the field Saturday against Washington State, resolved to honor the courageous fight of North Carolina State basketball coach Kay Yow and other breast cancer survivors.
Yow survived the disease for 22 years before succumbing in 2009. An eponymous foundation honors her name. The Kay Yow Foundation has raised over $2.8 million dollars for research.
Over done? An important symbol of a struggle that’s ravaged thousands of families? Talk amongst yourselves.
