Eagles coach Chip Kelly says Rondo is his perfect QB

Rajon Rondo’s football prowess is back in the spotlight because Grantland dug-up a quote from Eagles head coach Chip Kelly:

Although not all the Eagles quarterbacks are fleet-footed, whoever ends up the starter will be required to make quick decisions and efficiently distribute the ball to a variety of weapons; in a reply to a question from ESPN’s Todd McShay about who would be his ideal quarterback, Kelly’s response was Rajon Rondo. If the game against the Patriots is any indication, one of the ways Kelly will have his quarterback play point guard is by combining run plays with passing and screen concepts, and asking his quarterbacks — sometimes before the snap, sometimes after — to get the ball to the right player.

The Rondo football stories have been fairly common throughout his years in Boston. There was the time he talked with Bill Belichick about playing for the Patriots, the SI players poll – Which NBA player would make the best QB? – that ranked him 2nd, the flag football team building exercises back in 2012, and the video of his pass-catching ability at practice.

Could Rondo have played in the NFL? Who knows. I’m glad he chose basketball.

We all make critical decisions that impact our lives and the lives of others.

Imagine if I had accepted that job as a lighting coordinator for Victoria Secret? Red’s Army wouldn’t exist today.
