Eagles Fantasy Football Appeal: Week 15

-1

QB Sam Bradford

Week 14 performance: 247 passing yards, 1 TD, 1 INT(12.3 fantasy points)

ESPN Week 15 projection: 15.5 fantasy points

Sam Bradford has put up back to back respectable fantasy outings and seems to be finding his groove with the Eagles. Bradford even took some shots downfield against Buffalo, which we haven’t seen all season. Arizona is tough on quarterbacks, but Bradford should be able to get you at least 15 points against them. If you need a quarterback, Sam Bradford isn’t a bad option, but if you have someone better, then stay away.

RB DeMarco Murray

Week 14 performance: 34 rushing yards, 0 TD,  3 receiving yards(3 .7fantasy points)

ESPN Week 15 projection: 7.6 fantasy points

DeMarco Murray continues to under-perform and his complaining about the lack of work he’s receiving, isn’t helping the cause. With Murray being apart of a committee right now and a strong Cardinals run defense, you should leave Murray on your fantasy bench.

RB Ryan Mathews

Week 14 performance: 38 rushing yards, 0 TD, 4 receiving yards(4.2 fantasy points)

ESPN Week 15 projection: 7.1 fantasy points

Ryan Mathews saw his first game action since Week 10 and it did not go very well for him. I would consider Mathews a low-end flex play against the Cardinals.

RB Darren Sproles

Week 14 performance: 41 rushing yards, 4 receiving yards, 1 TD(10.5 fantasy points)

ESPN Week 15 projection: 7.9 fantasy points

Darren Sproles was finally used by the Eagles on offense and he rewarded them with a goal-line touchdown. Although Sproles had a productive game against Buffalo, he ranked third in touches among the running backs behind Murray and Mathews. Sproles will not be usable this week against the a strong Arizona run defense.

WR Jordan Matthews Q

Week 14 performance: 3 receptions for 19 yards(1.9 fantasy points)

ESPN Week 15 projection: 7.2  fantasy points

WR Jordan Matthews

Jordan Matthews was a dealing with a back injury all last week and it was surprising that he decided to suit up for this past Sunday’s game. The back injury is still nagging him right now and it may have gotten worse after playing against Buffalo. With Matthews being in serious danger to miss the Arizona game ad the fact he would go up against Patrick Peterson, it’s wise to sit Matthews this week,

WR Nelson Agholor

Week 14 performance: 3 catches for 62 yards, TD(12.2 fantasy points)

ESPN Week 15 projection: 4.3 fantasy points

Nelson Agholor finally showed flashes of what the Eagles wanted to see out of their first round pick, finally making an impact with his first career receiving touchdown on a 53-yard touchdown pass from Sam Bradford. Since there isn’t a strong history of use for Agholor and a horrible matchup, there is no reason to play him this week.

TE Zach Ertz

Week 14 performance: 5 catches for 98 yards(9.8 fantasy points)

ESPN Week 15 projection: 7.1  fantasy points

Zach Ertz is starting to come to life for the Eagles and he followed his first touchdown of the year with a respectable performance of 5 receptions for 98 yards. The Cardinals are middle of the road against tight ends and with the Eagles wide receivers being blanketed, Zach Ertz could be in line for a high-volume of targets. Start him this week.

TE Brent Celek

Week 14 performance: 1 receptions, 1 yards(1 fantasy points)

ESPN Week 15 projection: 2

With Zach Ertz at full strength, Brent Celek has no fantasy relevance.

Eagles Defense/Special Teams

Week 14 performance: 20 points allowed, 1 Forced Fumbles, 1 interceptions (2 fantasy points)

ESPN Week 15 projection: 7.9 fantasy points

The Eagle defense has been okay the past couple of weeks and are starting to force turnovers again, but do not start them this week against the Cardinals.

K Caleb Sturgis

Week 14 performance: 3/3 FG, 2/2 XPM(13 fantasy points)

ESPN Week 15 projection: 7.9  fantasy points

Start Sturgis this week because the Eagles will be hard pressed to find the zone.
