QB Sam Bradford
Week 7 performance: 205 passing yards, 0 touchdowns passes, 1 INT(7.6 fantasy points)
ESPN Week 9 projection: 14.1 fantasy points
Stay away from starting Bradford this week because the Cowboys are a tough matchup and it wouldn’t make any sense. Also, Bradford’s receivers can’t be trusted right now so until they start to catch passes, it’s best you stay away from Bradford for now.
RB DeMarco Murray
Week 7 performance: 65 rushing yards, 0 TD’s, 5 receiving yards(7 fantasy points)
ESPN Week 9 projection: 12.9 fantasy points
Go ahead and start DeMarco Murray this week against his former team, the Cowboys. Dallas has allowed 22.1 points per game to running backs, not to mention the six rushing touchdowns they have let up. Murray is RB-1 this week for sure.
RB Ryan Mathews Q
Week 7 performance: 97 rushing yards, touchdown, 24 receiving yards(18.1 fantasy points)
ESPN Week 9 projection: 5.7 fantasy points
Mathews’ upside is severely limited with DeMarco Murray back there dominating the touches, but Mathews has still managed to put up big numbers with limited touches. Mathews is dealing with a groin injury, but he should be ready to go for Sunday. Mathews would be a sneaky flex play, but that’s about it
RB Darren Sproles
Week 7 performance: 9 rushing yards, 31 receiving yards(4 fantasy points)
ESPN Week 9 projection: 5.4 fantasy points
Darren Sproles has completely evaporated from the Eagles offense in recent weeks and it won’t get any better having Murray and Mathews in front of him in the pecking order. The matchup against the Cowboys is enticing, but Sproles likely won’t get enough touches to capitalize on it so leave him on your bench
WR Jordan Matthews
Week 7 performance: 3 receptions for 14 yards(1.4 fantasy points)
ESPN Week 9 projection: 7.7 fantasy points
Jordan Matthews has had the worst case of the drops this year and it’s severely damaging his value. And it doesn’t help when the matchup is unfavorable this week with the Cowboys allowing the sixth-fewest fantasy points to wide receivers this year and have only allowed four touchdowns to wide receivers. Matthews is low-end flex play at best this week.
WR Nelson Agholor Q
Week 7 performance: DNP
ESPN Week 9 projection: 4.5
The hopes of Nelson Agholor becoming a fantasy stud has not come to fruition after he missed week 7 with an injury and he won’t fare any better in a tough matchup against a Cowboys defense who have been unkind to receivers this years. Stay away from playing Agholor in any format
TE Zach Ertz
Week 7 performance: 5 receptions on 7 targets for 63 yards(6.3 fantasy points)
ESPN Week 9 projection: 6.6 fantasy points
Zach Ertz is slowly trending upwards as the season goes on and seems to be the Eagles only sure-handed target at the moment. The matchup doesn’t look favorable for Ertz, but Dallas could be too focused on the Eagles receivers, which could open things up for Ertz. But honestly if you have anyone better then you should sit Ertz, he is a low-end TE-2 at the most this week.
Eagles Defense/Special Teams
Week 7 performance:27 points allowed, 3 interceptions, (6 fantasy points)
ESPN Week 9 projection: 6.7 fantasy points
With Matt Cassel leading the charge for the Cowboys offense, the Eagles defense is a must start this week. Cassel is prone to making mistakes and his lack of chemistry with the receivers could work hugely in the Eagles favor. Expect the Eagles defense get you double-digit points this week.
K Caleb Sturgis
Week 7 performance: 3/4 FG, /1 XPM(11 fantasy points)
ESPN Week 9 projection: 8.4 fantasy points
There are a couple of kickers on a bye this week so if you’re looking for a fill-in, Caleb Sturgis would not be a bad option. He will have plenty opportunities against to Cowboys, who don’t allow many touchdowns and the Eagles ave struggled to get it going due to drops amongst other things
