If there was any hopes of the Eagles making a last gasp playoff push, they were gone by the end of the game. The Philadelphia Eagles got straight up embarrassed by the New England Patriots at home 38-20.
The score might have said that the game was close but it really wasn’t if you watched the entire game. The Patriots outplayed the Eagles in all phases of the game. Tom Brady had a game that you would expect; he went 24 for 34, with 361passing yards, completing almost 71 percent of his passes, and throwing 3 TDs. He was shredding the Eagles defense apart, and he had help from both of his wide receivers Wes Welker and Deion Branch.
Both of them combined for 14 receptions and 240 receiving yards. This game was a joke in the grand scheme of things. The Eagles got too pass happy after Vince Young completed two long passes to WRs DeSean Jackson and Riley Cooper. Furthermore, the Eagles stopped giving the ball to LeSean McCoy who only had 14 touches in the game (10 carries for 31 yards and 1 TD, 4 recs for 30 yards). Finally, this team on defense just didn’t tackle, didn’t step up on the Patriots wide receivers, and couldn’t get no pressure on Brady in the later quarters. Eagles fans, this season is over and it has been a disappointment, but my question to you is: Are you still going to be watching the Eagles for the rest of the season?
