It has been speculated that the Philadelphia Eagles would pull out all the stops to move up in the 2016 NFL Draft, and this afternoon, they have done just that.
According to ESPN, the Eagles and Browns agreed on a deal, giving the Eagles the number two overall pick in this year’s draft in exchange for the Eagles’ 2016 eighth overall pick, fourth-round and fifth-round picks, 2017 first-round pick, and 2018 second-round pick.
In addition to the Browns’ first round pick, the Eagles will also receive a conditional fourth round pick in the 2017 draft.
With the trade comes more all but confirmation that the Eagles are looking for their quarterback of the future between now and next Thursday. With word going around that the Los Angeles Rams may use their first overall pick on former Cal quarterback Jared Goff, the Eagles could be looking at former North Dakota State quarterback Carson Wentz as their guy.
