Yesterday we took a look at the prospects from the Little Caesars Bowl for the Philadelphia Eagles and now we are going to do that for three bowl games today! Let’s first start off with the Military Bowl which kicks off at 3:00 pm ET on ESPN. In this game we have San Jose State (WAC) taking on Bowling Green (MAC).

Unlike yesterday’s bowl game we will only be taking a look at two prospects from this afternoon’s game, one prospect from San Jose State and one prospect from Bowling Green. Let’s start off by taking a look at San Jose State prospect tight end Ryan Otten. Otten is a big senior tight end as he is 6-6, 245 lbs. In terms of production this season, Otten has 44 receptions, 706 receiving yards, and four touchdowns. I would not be surprised to see the Eagles go after a tight end because they really haven’t got anything out of Clay Harbor this season and Brent Celek is taking a lot of hard hits. Expect Ryan Otten to be drafted between the 4th-6th rounds in the NFL Draft.
Finally, let’s look at Bowling Green’s potential Eagles draft prospect and that is senior defensive tackle Chris Jones. You might say to yourself that the Eagles don’t need any more help on the defensive line but you can never have too many defensive linemen. The Eagles defensive line seems to be set for now but you got to look towards the future.
Chris Jones is the real deal but is not a real big guy only at 6-1, 293 lbs. which will hurt his draft status. This season Jones was named the Mid-American Conference player of the year which he deserved. Jones had 19 tackles for loss and is third in the nation in sacks with 12.5. He is the anchor of this Bowling Green defense that is ranked seventh in the nation only allowing 289.7 yards per game. I project Jones to be a 3rd-5th round pick in the NFL Draft.
So there you have it, two prospects that Eagles fans should keep their eye out for in today’s Military Bowl. So remember as you watch this bowl game remember our men and women who serve and fight for this country everyday and don’t forget we have two more bowl games with prospects to preview.
