Today, the Philadelphia Eagles made a solid addition to their linebacker core as they announced that they have signed former Green Bay Packers inside linebacker Brad Jones to a two-year contract.
It was reported earlier in the day by Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean that Jones recently visited with the Tennessee Titans and a visit today with the Eagles. It seems like the birds did not let him out of the building.
Jones was released by the Packers last month as he has spent his entire six-year career with them. In 76 games with Green Bay, he had 186 tackles and 10 sacks. Jones provide depth at linebacker as the Eagles desperately need it as they were leaking oil towards the end of last season. He is also a good special teams player, which most likely made him a good fit with the Eagles as they pride themselves on great special teams play.
Free agency has not even started yet and the Eagles are already making moves to improve their 2015 roster. Roster moves like these will come into play during the season especially if there are injuries that linger throughout.
