Brent Celek is number 13 on the list. Celek has been on somewhat of a decline as of late, but I see him having a really solid year for the Philadelphia Eagles. With the injury to Jeremy Maclin, and the departure of Riley Cooper for counseling, Brent Celek with get more balls thrown to him. Especially under new Coach Chip Kelly, Celek has a chance to bounce back from his poor season last year.
Last season, Celek only had one touchdown, but 684 receiving yards. A disappointing year for him, but he was often injured. If Michael Vick is named the starting quarterback then Brent Celek will succeed. Just a year ago when Vick was his quarterback, he hauled in 5 touchdowns, and 811 yards. These are numbers of a rock solid tight end, and Celek will have the chance to do so this year with the injury to Maclin. Vick loves to throw the ball to him, and if they are paired together this year I see them making a major impact.
Chip Kelly always had, and always will utilize his tight ends. Kelly has three tight ends on the roster, of all which that deserve playing time. He has made it know that he will use each tight end to their ability, and have them all over the field. I see Celek being a major red zone option this season, and totaling at least 5 touchdowns. He has the skills, and size to be the Eagles go to player when they need to score.
With Maclin out for the season, Riley Cooper being excused, and Chip Kelly’s history with tight ends, I see Celek having a great season for the Eagles. They need him to be the player he once was, and to stay healthy. Celek will be important to the Eagles this season as he will look to get his career back on track. Brent Celek will be a weapon to either quarterback, and will be a constant go to receiver. Look for him to be an impact player next season, and resurrect his career.
