Eagles weekly recap: NFL Draft, prospect workouts

Welcome to this week’s edition of the Eagles weekly recap. With the 2016 NFL Draft just a few weeks away, the Eagles are exploring all options as they prepare for the big weekend. Let’s get into it:

  • The Eagles got started in prospect workouts, and quarterback Jared Goff was one of the players head coach Doug Pederson worked out while in California. The UCLA standout is projected to be a top pick in the upcoming draft.
  • Just one day after workout out Goff, the Eagles got a look at Stanford quarterback Kevin Hogan in a private workout. Hogan is projected to be a mid-to-late-round grab.
  • In addition to Goff and Hogan, multiple reports state that the Eagles plan on working out North Dakota State quarterback Carson Wentz, and Memphis quarterback Paxton Lynch, both highly regarded quarterbacks. The workouts are likely to happen next week.
  • Now that the draft order is solidified, ESPN reported the order of which the Eagles nine picks will occur:
  • First round: 8th overall selection (from Miami).Second round: No pick. 43d overall selection traded to St. Louis for Sam Bradford.

    Third round: 77th overall selection (from Detroit), 79th overall selection.

    Fourth round: 100th overall selection.

    Fifth round: 153d overall selection, 164th overall selection (from Pittsburgh).

    Sixth round: 188th overall selection.

    Seventh round: 233d overall selection, 251st overall selection (from Arizona).
