Welcome to an Easter Sunday edition of the Eagles weekly recap. This past week saw another free-agent signing, and the yearly owners meetings that always provide insight as teams head deeper into the busy off-season. Let’s get into it:
- The Eagles and former New York Giants wide receiver Rueben Randle agreed to terms on a one-year deal worth $5 million with $500,000 guaranteed. In 2015, Randle recorded 57 catches for 757 yards, and eight touchdowns.
- The NFL Owners meetings took place this week, and head coach Doug Pederson shed tons of light on his direction for the Eagles. Among things he talked about included his initial plan in stabilizing the quarterback position upon his hiring. He also added that he wants to maintain the offensive tempo former head coach Chip Kelly established during his tenure with the Eagles.
- In some sad news, the Eagles organization remembers former fullback Kevin Turner who passed away at the age of 46 after a long battle with ALS. His health became part of the major issue surrounding head trauma and long-term health of players. He became active in CTE research after his diagnosis, and started the Kevin Turner foundation to aid in ALS reseasch. Upon the news of his passing, many former teammates paid their respects to Turner.
