Welcome to this week’s edition of Eagles Weekly Recap, where we sum up the major stories coming from the Philadelphia Eagles throughout the week. As the off-season continues, and the Eagles continue to maneuver through a slew of changes, the level of excitement, and curiosity will continue to rise in Philadelphia. Let’s get into it.

  • The Eagles’ tight end duo is here to stay for a while. The Eagles signed Zach Ertz to a five-year, $42.5 million contract extension. The contract also guarantees the upcoming four-year pro $20 million. The Eagles followed up by signing Brent Celek to a new contract. According to ESPN, the deal is worth $13 million, with $6 million guaranteed.
  • In addition to Ertz and Celek, right tackle Lane Johnson also saw a payday this week. The Eagles and the now four-year vet agreed to a 6-year, $63 million deal to keep Johnson here in Philly.
  • In their search of a new director of personnel, the Eagles requested to interview Pittsburgh Steelers’ pro scouting coordinator Brandon Hunt. Vice president of football operations Howie Roseman currently handles personnel, and it is the belief that he will oversee the director of personnel position.
  • Tonight is the 2016 NFL Pro Bowl presented by USAA. Running back Darren Sproles, and safety Malcolm Jenkins will represent the Eagles for Team Irvin led by hall of fame receiver Michael Irvin. Defensive tackle Fletcher Cox will represent the Eagles for Hall-of-Famer Jerry Rice’s Team Rice.
  • Now that the Eagles have secured their two tight ends, attention will turn to evaluating potential deals for other free agents, most notably quarterback Sam Bradford, safety Walt Thurmond, defensive end Cedric Thornton, and others.
  • Speaking of free agents, there is currently no word on the direction the Eagles will go in terms of whether to resign Bradford. Multiple reports suggest Bradford is looking for a deal worth just over $20 million per season, which some feel is much to high. The Eagles could also explore the option of offering Bradford the franchise tag, which will be around $18 million.
