Eagles Weekly Recap: Week 5 preview, Key returns, Bradham arrest, and more

Cleveland Browns v Philadelphia Eagles

Welcome to this week’s edition of the Eagles Weekly Recap. The Eagles are coming off their bye week after an impressive 3-0 start to the 2016 season, and are looking to continue flying through out the remaining weeks to come. Let’s get into it:

  • Coming off their Week 4 bye, the Philadelphia Eagles head to Ford Field to take on the Detroit Lions. Of note, the Week 5 matchup will be a homecoming of sorts for Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz who is a former Lions head coach. The Eagles look to continue their momentum to capture their first 4-0 start since 2004.
  • Today’s game will also mark the return of tight end Zach Ertz, and cornerback Leodis McKelvin. Both players have been sidelined due to injury since the Eagles season opener against the Cleveland Browns.
  • On Tuesday, right tackle Lane Johnson’s appeal was heard regarding his pending 10-game suspension. As no ruling has been made yet, Johnson will start this afternoon against the Lions.
  • One Eagles player landed in hot water during the bye week. Linebacker Nigel Bradham was arrested in Miami after being found with a loaded handgun while crossing through airport security. So far, no charges have been filed, however Bradham was charged with a second-degree felonious assault at a hearing this week for his alleged attack of a hotel employee in July.
  • The Eagles made a few roster moves this week, signing guard Matt Rotherman to the practice squad, and releasing cornerback JaCorey Shepherd and linebacker Don Cherry from the practice squad.

That’s it for this week. Stay tuned with Total Sports Live for the latest involving the Philadelphia Eagles.
