Welcome to this week’s edition of the Eagles Weekly Recap. The Philadelphia Eagles are preparing for their second primetime game of the season in what surely will be a battle to remember. Let’s get into it:
- Tonight, the Philadelphia Eagles will take the field at AT&T Stadium to take on the division rival Dallas Cowboys. The big story of the game will be the faceoff between rookie sensation quarterbacks Carson Wentz and Dak Prescott. Tonight will also see the return of Dez Bryant for the Cowboys, and a reunion of former Eagles defensive tackle Cedric Thornton, who signed with Dallas this offseason.
- The Eagles have a few key injuries heading into tonight’s game. Defensive tackle Bennie Logan will be out with a groin injury and wide receiver Jordan Matthews is questionable after dealing with knee tendonitis throughout the week.
- One injury that may prove to be devastating for the Eagles is the injury to cornerback Ron Brooks, who suffered a quad tear in last Sunday’s victory over the Minnesota Vikings. Brooks has been places on injured reserve, and will miss the remainder of the season. The Eagles re-signed cornerback Aaron Grymes signed to the practice squad this week for depth, and claimed defensive tackle Taylor Hart off waivers from the San Francisco 49ers to the roster to fill the spot left by Brooks.
- The NFL trade deadline is this coming Tuesday, and the Eagles found themselves in the headlines as news broke that the team may have interest in San Francisco 49ers receiver Torrey Smith and Chicago Bears receiver Alshon Jeffery. Members of the Bears organization have since denied rumors of trade interest, however the acquisition of Smith could still be on the table.
That’s it for this week. Stay tuned with Total Sports Live for the latest involving the Philadelphia Eagles.
