Welcome to this week’s edition of the Eagles Weekly Recap. The Eagles are preparing for their third divisional game of the season, and lots has happened leading up to today. Let’s get into it:
- This afternoon, the Eagles head to MetLife Stadium to take on Eli Manning and the New York Giants. This will be the third NFC East game for the Birds who are currently 0-2 in the division. The big match-up for today’s game will be Jim Schwartz’s defense versus Eli Manning and the Giants offense.
- The big story coming out of Philadelphia this week was the arrest and subsequent release of wide receiver Josh Huff. Huff was arrested Tuesday after being pulled over on the Walt Whitman bridge, and being found in possession of a firearm, marijuana, and six hollow point bullets. The team released Huff on Thursday, and he has since cleared waivers.
- In light of Huff’s release, the Eagles will activate rookie wide receiver Bryce Treggs for today’s game. The former Cal receiver was claimed off waivers by the Eagles from the San Francisco 49ers on Sept. 4, and has mustered up much talk about his abilities though being inactive for all the of the 2016 season this far.
- On the injury front, the Eagles will be without defensive tackles Bennie Logan and Taylor Hart. Defensive tackle Beau Allen will start in place of Logan.
That’s it for this week. Stay tuned with Total Sports Live for the latest involving the Philadelphia Eagles.
