The Eagles had a longing need for a veteran presence in the wide-receiver department, and they helped fill that void by adding Chris Givens.
This afternoon, the Eagles announced that they have agreed to terms with Givens for a one-year deal.
Givens as drafted by the St. Louis Rams in 2012, and spent three seasons with the team before being traded to the Baltimore Ravens. Throughout his career, Givens has recorded 107 receptions for 1,779 yards, and five touchdowns.
The six-foot, 203 lb. receiver had his best year during his rookie season, when he caught 42 passes for 698 yards, and three touchdowns.
With a young receiving core led by third-year pro Jordan Matthews, the Eagles now added an experienced vet to help groom Matthews and second-year receiver Nelson Agholor.
The Eagles will certainly look to sure up their receiving core as the offseason continues, hoping to give quarterback Sam Bradford plenty of passing options.
