Early mistakes keep Titans around, lead to overtime loss

-14

In a game they couldn’t afford to lose, the Saints made some crucial early mistakes, and the Saints seem helpless to stop the snowball that kept building.

I honestly can’t even recall all of the awfulness because of the abundance. Maybe we’ll just put it into bullet point form:

  • Byrd ran into Lewis who was in the process of intercepting the ball, and instead led to a 61 yard TD.
  • Marcus Murphy fumbled a punt.
  • Brees threw a crucial pick on an awful throw to Ingram in the redzone.
  • Brandon Browner Brandon Browner’d the entire game and then went off on a reporter in the locker room.
  • The pass rush was nowhere to be found.
  • The snap and hold for the potential game winning FG looked awful. McCown injuring himself looks huge right now.
  • Complete lack of effort by the defense in overtime.

This team as is will not fair well on the road, where most of their games will be played. Changes need to be made if they have any hope of sneaking into the playoffs. The confidence and momentum they built on their 3 game winning streak has been all but obliterated against an awful Titans team. It’s not easy being a Saints fan right now.
