If you’re here to read my thoughts on the racist twats on Twitter, much like my wife, you’re going to be sadly disappointed.
Seriously can we calm the fuck down already people? Jesus Christ. The Bruins lost a hockey game in double overtime – a game where they vastly outplayed the Montreal Canadiens and lost on their mistakes. If we’re going to just freak the fuck out because the Bruins lose game 1 then what’s the point of watching games 2-whenever the series ends?
Fair enough.
Still, the Bruins mental mistakes is what killed them last night. Not Subban, not Price, not the refs (which I saw being blamed which is incredibly retarded).
It was the Bruins who beat the Bruins in Game 1. It was Milan Lucic whiffing on a net that was so wide open the love child of his nose and Brad Marchand’s nose could have made a cozy home. It was Brad Marchand doing his best to stand behind Carey Price and block whatever shots were coming at the net. It was David Krejci trying to make passes that were so cute the Japanese were going to put a bow on it and sell it for a nominal fee. It was Dougie Hamilton hitting so many pipes he will be elected as Toronto’s next mayor.
Even those blaming Bartkowski – stop. You know who would be a horrible replacement for Bartkowski? Anyone else. Meszaros? Potter? Are you high? Are you on some kind of fantastic drugs that remove you from any sort of reality? Stop it. You would want two fucking pillars out there? Two guys who are slower than me trying to do remedial math? Knock it off. If Meszaros or Potter get into the lineup, Game 2 will be delayed because Therrien is too busy jerking off in celebration.
The first powerplay was weaksauce. Look at this.
The other Bartkowski penalty was him getting burnt and trying to recover. Funny thing, Dan Paille got called for a tripping penalty because Brendan Gallagher did a good job of evading a check and their legs got tangled. Where’s the outcry to bench Danny Paille? Oh there isn’t, but Jordan Caron would be an acceptable replacement in this series unlike Potter or Meszaros.
Okay, I think the rage is out.
The way I look at it we can start worrying when the Bruins lost a third game. When the series is 3-1, 3-2, 3-0 then it is time to worry. Until then, I’ve watched this team come back from down 2-0 against the Canadiens before. When you dominate a game 5v5 like the Bruins did, 90% of the time you will win. The other 10% of the time was last night.
