MTL LEADS THE SERIES 2-1

The only sounds in the Bell Centre was the sound of steel cutting through ice. As the ghosts of Montreal’s past hung from the rafters, each Stanley Cup banner a reminder of historical accomplishments, on the ice the Boston Bruins continued to practice. Red faced and irritated, Claude Julien barked out orders to his players.
“Skate harder!”
“Be smarter!”
And he repeated those two phrases in hopes of ingraining them into his players. Suddenly there was a large scream. The players looked around and at the opposite end of the ice was the Bear, dying. For reasons unknown, the Bear – a symbol of the Bruins heart – was fading away. The coach had seen this before. As captain Zdeno Chara cradled the Bear, whispering sweet Slovakian into it’s ears, Claude pulled out the picture that Cam Neely once gave him.
“Take care of this Claude for it represents what our team is all about. The first is a symbol of our heart. The second, our spirit. The third is a symbol of our love for the game. If you ever see these symbols fading away, here’s a friend who can help.” and tucked a small card into his pocket.
“I know what I must do!” Claude said looking at the tears streaming from Milan Lucic’s face.
Wednesday, 3:00pm
The door of the visiting locker room flung open as the team looked up. Zdeno Chara, still cradling the fading Bear like a baby, was surprised at who Claude had to call.
Standing in the doorway was a figure of the Bruins past. He was the only one who could properly diagnose what was wrong with the Bruins and knew how to restore the Bruins heart. He has seen it first hand. He has watched this club go down in series before and knew how they could battle back. He knew the secrets and he held the revelations.

“Quick everyone, get out of the way!” He yelled as he rushed over to the fading Ursus Arctos. The tightly woven crowd of Boston Bruins players surrounding their fading symbol of heart started to unravel, making a large opening for the doctor. Chara and the good doctor exchanged looks as the giant stood up, placed a hand on the doctor’s shoulder and said “Chara.”
“Yes, yes I agree!” Dr. Recchi said, exchanging nods with the black and gold wearing monster. Dr. Recchi studied the fading beast. He then turned to the group and with a harsh but confident tone “You see this bear fading? This bear resembles your heart and it is nonexistent.”
The players, suddenly alive with ferocity and ferociousness, started barking at Dr. Recchi who was ready for their verbal onslaught.
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN WE DON’T HAVE HEART?!” Yelled Patrice Bergeron.
“CHARA! CHARA CHARA CHARA? CHARA!!!” Screamed the Boston’s captain.
“I love chicken parm subs!” Shouted Dougie Hamilton, facing the wrong direction because he wasn’t aware where Dr. Recchi was.
“Hi, I’m Chad Johnson!”
“Ah, you have heart in here my lads but it is out there where you lack it,” He said pointing to the locker room door. “You can hoot and holler in the locker room all you want, but it is on that ice where you need to prove it. You haven’t shown that you care on Montreal’s home ice. Where is your heart, boys? Here, I want you to watch this for a minute.”

Dr. Recchi looked on as the players began to rise with their hands clenched closed and hunger in their eyes. They started to chant “BRING US THE HABS!”, they started to clap and give verbal jabs.
“Fuck Dale Weise because he mocked us!” They started to cuss.
“We will get bodies in front of Carey Price. We’ll put Chara or Iggy or Lucic, that’ll suffice!”
Dr. Recchi looked down as the Bear started to come back, the Bruins heart was growing as a matter of fact.
And maybe all they needed was a quick little reminder that they were the best, that they were the grinder. They were the biggest and toughest in the land, they were the team to which others would stand. They can’t let Montreal out skate, out score and out hit – it was time to give Montreal a feel of fits!
Dr. Recchi smiled because the Bruins were here and if they needed some help, their German cyborg could reappear.
