Editorial: Open letter to Sabby PiscitelliSabby, I never played football. I cannot do what you can do. You are far better at your job than I am at it, and its not even close. But Sean Jones is better than you. The Bucs did not go out and pick up a Quarterback this offseason. Why? Because they are happy with the one they have. They DID go out and pick up a safety, because they were NOT happy with the one they have, namely, you. They were not happy with the way you dove high to stop a Saint in a critical situation late in the 4th Quarter at the Superdome, they were not happy with the way you played Ole’ defense vs the Cowboys last year, even though thats not the defense you were drafted for. You had a fair fight; last year for 16 games, to prove you deserved a spot on this team as a starter. Your resume speaks for itself; you take bad angles, you wiff on tackles, and yes, you come up with some big plays now and then, but name a person on this Bucs defense who doesnt. And now, you have pretty much played yourself out of a Bucs uniform for 2011, because there is no way this team will keep you on board going into next season. It is doubtful you will play at all this year to be honest, barring an injury. You are a grown man, and grown men do not cry foul when they lose a starting job. They do not tell the press they were dissed by getting their message via text they were demoted when the standard way to find out your demoted is to read the depth chart sheet on the wall. There is no forgiveness in that method. Be thankful you got a text message. Because the next message you get from the Buccaneers probably wont be anywhere near as nice. Expect it sometime between now and September 2011.
