tBBC welcomes newest Buckeye Ejuan Price.
After a non eventful recruitment, Pennsylvania linebacker Ejuan Price has announced his decision to attend The Ohio State University by letting head coach Jim Tressel know during his in-home visit.
It came down to two big ten teams, and one of them was not PSU. Price played his recruitment about as close to the vest as one could. He was not in the spotlight, he didn’t want to play the hat game, and he didn’t want to have a press conference. He wanted to let the coaches know where he was going and to text a couple reporters, and that’s what he did.
Price will not be as recognized as others in this class like Braxton Miller, Doran Grant, Michael Bennett, etc, but it goes without saying that Price is a great addition as the class comes to a close. He should fill in nicely when his time comes as another LB in Ohio State’s very storied LB tradition. I don’t see Price as an impact player next year due to depth at the position, but he could see time on special teams… or could take a red-shirt year.
Beyond the fact that Price is a top PA prospect, the ability of Ohio State lock up another great player from the state of PA and out recruit Pitt and PSU in their own back yard adds more salt to the open wound that has been created as the top PA guys have committed to tOSU over the past 5 years or so.
Despite there not being much word surrounding Price’s recruitment, most Ohio State insiders have felt we have been in the lead for some time. Many thought that he would give his word before the season, but he took the opportunity to look around a little bit more. It is a great feeling to have a kid in the fold that wants to do the things the right way and not hog the spotlight. Price has been sorta old school in a Woody Hayes type way.
Highlights after the jump.
