The AAC has released it’s all conference teams and it’s all rookie team. As you can see from the headline, Octavius Ellis and Gary Clark were honored by the league as second team all conference and placed on the all-rookie team respectively. Both Bearcats earned the honors with great seasons.

Bearcats guard Troy Caupain was an honorable mention.

Ellis averaged 10.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.9 blocks and 1.6 assists during AAC play. He hit 58% from the field and 77.6% from the free throw line. Octavius posted three double doubles in AAC action.

Gary Clark averaged 7.4 points a game, 6.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.2 steals. Clark hit 56.6% from the floor and 61.8% from the foul line. The freshman cranked out a pair of double doubles in league play.

Here are the teams:

The guards dominated the first team with Moore, Boatright, Cummings and Woodard. I was a bit surprised Woodard got the nod over Harrison, but hey, I wasn’t a voter. The player of the year is going to be Boatright or Moore. Easy to assume that already, a lot easier to assume after both were unanimous first team selections.
Daniel Hamilton is probably going to be the slam dunk conference freshman of the year. He was the only freshman that was an honorable mention for the all league teams. He was one of two unanimous selections for the all-rookie team. He seems to be a slam dunk.
Congratulations to all of the players honored. They all had great seasons and definitely earned their honors. This was a guard heavy league and if anyone thinks 4 guards shouldn’t have been named first team, they didn’t watch enough.
