Maxime Clermont made 27 saves, while Andrew Rowe scored twice to lead the Elmira Jackals to a 5-1 victory over the Florida Everblades in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals at First Arena Saturday night. Florida now holds a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series.

Just as they have in each game in the series, the Jackals assembled a quality first period effort.  Their hard work paid off as Elmira took the 1-0 lead at 7:49 of the opening frame on a goal by Louie Caporusso.  Caporusso received a pass on the left wing circle and hurled a shot that squeezed past the body of goaltender Jesse Deckert and the shortside post for the goal.  Elmira outshot the ‘Blades 13-4 in the opening period, and took the 1-0 lead into the first break.
