The opportunity to take a two-game advantage quickly slipped by the Florida Everblades on Saturday night.
The defending Kelly Cup champions watched their 2-1 lead crumble as the Elmira Jackals scored the final seven goals of the game to post an 8-2 win in Game 2 of an Eastern Conference quarterfinal at Germain Arena.
Jordan Pietrus’s short-handed goal on a 2-on-none rush six minutes in the third period snapped a 2-2 tie. Pietrus blocked a shot at the Elmira blue line, and then converted a pass from Rob Bellamy. Read the rest here.
